Project Objective

The main objective of our G2YTA (Design and Development of Strengthened Software Defined Networks for Security) project is to identify built-in vulnerabilities of Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology, which considered as one of the critical technologies for Future Internet, and find countermeasures for these vulnerabilities and test the outputs of these countermeasures by applying them.

The traditional networks which consist of integrated the hardware and software components become a bottleneck to serve the rapidly increasing data traffic and are insufficient to cover the information security gaps created by the new technologies. Especially in mobile networks, the usage of SDN is becoming more and more widespread in order to provide efficient, efficient and very high speed communication and to ensure information security across all communication layers and client servers. These challenges and goals are the main driving factors in the formation of the Future Internet concept. Therefore, our project aims to meet the information security needs of the Future Internet by using a built-in in-depth defense principle, which aims to develop an SDN system that has low financial / communication costs and extends centralized network management to complex systems. In this project, we plan to develop the SDN security solutions, evaluate their performance by simulation and analysis methods and test them on electronic services receiving high internet traffic (electronic commerce systems are targeted).
